Show nonprofit non profit welfare association files for incorporation initiative legislation association cia tion a no share nonprofit organization created at state capitol monday articles of incorporation were filed with the secretary of state last monday by which a non prof it no share association to be known as the initiative legislation association becomes a legal entity the purpose of the corporation po ration is to foster and initiate public welfare legislation calculated to promote prosperity and afford security to those classes classe of society unable to care f for or themselves adequately under the existing conditions and while the organization is not formed for profit it is nevertheless designed to produce profits and accelerate commerce and industry in every corner of the state of utah A T hestmark of ogden utah is named as the president and a director of the association parley D lee of brigham utah is vice president and director R A moyes is named as secretary treasurer his residence being at ogden utah george H budd and peter CC C carlston charlston of salt lake city complete the directorate headquarters will be maintained in both salt lake city and ogden it is proposed to enroll members and form units in every county and city of the state and a campaign of education along social and economic lines will be conducted preparatory to the introduction tro of legislative reforms calculated to bring the greatest greate s t good to the largest number of the citizens of the state first by ap pealing to the state legislature and later if found advisable by invoking the principle of direct initiative one of the objectives sought will be the vitalization and amendment of the existing state scrip law which will put into circulation cu a medium of exchange which cannot loaf in the banks an and other dother hiding places but which must stay out in the open and P perform the proper functions of money the exchange of goods and services hoarders boarders Hoar ders will be penalized when they retard the circulation of this proposed medium which will probably be in the form of state warrants so designed as to collect a transaction tax each time they change hands or are held beyond a specified number of days crude experiments already conducted in this state by private initiative have abundantly proved the alacrity with which a medium of this k kind 1 nd produces fransa transactions chions and stimulates business which is only one of the objects sought to be obtained others are the more adequate provision for the aged and other ables the relief of the unemployed by the retiring of the aged from gainful employment and the substitution of younger men in the jobs they are now holding down the oben ing of new opportunities for our continued on page 13 |
