| Show FEAR FEAK FEDERAL ROAD MONEY MAY NOTICE forthcoming G I 1 in a letter to the county commissioners i of san juan chui coui county ity frani I 1 I 1 chairman edw E howo howe of the state road commission some misgiving is expressed for the welfare of lour our laborers on account of the dents message cherem he mended that the appropriation for federal aid roads for the 1937 ciscal year be postponed tor for one year the appropriation was not reduced or delayed however the 1937 fiscal year begins july 1 1936 1 chairman howe cites the fact that most of needy laborers are on the borderline border line of but have been able by exceptional economy to keep off the relief rolls the situation therefore would be serious if the appropriation for road improvement were to be withheld A protest has been sent to senators and representatives in congress in in the hope of improving the situation which we understand does not affect many of the eastern and southern I 1 states as they have not used funds already available for road construction in the west however the sit ution is different and the relief of the labor situation is directly tied in with construction of federal aid roads road |
