Show examination FOR NAVAL ACADEMY appointment I 1 TO BE HELD SOON senator william H king will have one vacancy in his quota of appointments to the united states naval I 1 academy at annapolis maryland in 1936 i I 1 in rl order that all 11 young men who are ar e bona fide residents of the state sta te of utah and are ambitious and desirous of attending the naval academy may have an equal opportunity to receive an appointment senator king will vill conduct a competitive examination under the auspices of tile the united stites civil service commission the competitive examination will be held on saturday january 4 1936 at A M local time in salt lake city ogden logan provo richfield I 1 and cedar city candidates are eligible for admit tane to the naval academy if they are not nob less than 16 years ot of age agai I 1 on april and not more than 20 years of age on march of the calendar year in which they would en ter the academy the practice pursued by senator K king ing in making appointments to the naval academy is to designate as principal the young man receiving the highest mark in the competitive ex mi nation the young man receiving the next highest roark mark will be designated as first alternate the one re the third highest mark as j second alternate and the one receiving the fourth highest mark as third alternate after designation by senator king a mental and physical examination will be given by the naval I 1 academy every candidate must of course submit himself to a complete and thorough physical examination if the principle passes the mental examination sub submits higel school certificate and passes the substantiating examination or is exempt from mental examination because of his college work and passes the physical examination he is entitled to enter the academy next year however if the principal fails to qualify mentally or physically the first alternate provided be qualifies mentally and physically may be appointed to enter the academy the same is true of the second alternate in the event the principal and the first alternate fail and the same is also true of the third alternate in the event the principal and the first two alternates fail authorization will be mailed to all those who have written senator king asking permission to take the ex e ami notion authorization will be given to any young man who requests ame by telegraph or letter before december 16 1935 I 1 |
