Show KINDERGARTEN NOW ' ramjF school KINDERGARTEN FOR ALL CHILDREN CHILD-REN 5 TO 6 YEARS OF AGE. BY II. R. ATKIX , Principal of Schools. For a number of years the citizens of Blngharu Canyon have been eager for the establishment of a Kindergar, ten department as a regular part of our Public School System. Through ' the splendid efforts and cooperation of the Parent - Ter.chers organization, the Ladles Civic Club and the citizens of the camp in general with the School the Board of Education has evolved a pirn for the establishment of this important institution. When school opens this fiill (Sept. 4th) there will be ready for operation a complete and thoroughly eqiupp-'d kindergarten department rB a pari of the Bingham Canyon Public School System. For this department there have been employed two well trained and successful kindergarten teachers. It is expected also, that the Board of Education will provide whatever equipment Is necessary to ni; ke a firs! class kindergarten department. This department will be prepared to take care of about 100 boys nd girls from age 5 to G. The plan will probably he to have half of the children child-ren attend In the forenoon rnd the oiner half in the afternoon. As previously stated, beginning with the-coming school year the kindergarten kin-dergarten will be a palrt of the regular regu-lar school system rnd children who do not attend the kindergarten will be seriously handicapped uoon nterlng the ffrst grade. It is hoped, t In fact, that the kindergarten will ' eliminate a large number of th ordin. year first grade retardation. With these explanations It Is hoped that all parents who have children from 5 to 6 years of age will recognize recogn-ize the importance of having them register and attend the kindergarten. It would not be much exaggeration to state that from now on it will be juSte as important for children from age 5 to 6 to r.ttend kndergarten as it ' has been heretofore for children from age 6 to 7 to attend first grade. |
