Show FLOODS 08 00 MUCH DAMAGE TO ROADS OF COW COUNTY two big bridges on moab highway are wrecked andall and all Cu culverts Culver lverts tg on la sal road are gone the storms of the past week have done thousands of dollars in damage to the roads of the county although traffic has nov not been seriously interfered with as where re bridges were ire washed out 1 and damaged short detours were quit quickly I 1 constructed so that travel could c continUe antin without int cru eruption eption while repairs are being in made de A flood that came down cane spring wa wash i sh thursday so BO weakened one of 0 the piers that when a car of tourists drove onto it the bridge sank carrying in g the car down and another car that was wa c lose close behind all but went down with it the dabag V t this bridge and its reconstruction will mount into hundreds of dollars the bridge across pack creek just south of moab which had been weakened by previous pi evious floods also went out the same day it being a total loss the replacement of which will mount into the thousands aside from these two serious wash outs the road between here and has been damaged very little but a flood which came off of the hills between la sal and the junction sun day washed out ayery culvert on in the tha road load which will necessitate hundreds of dollars in repair work so fir far as known he grades on all 0 of f the proved improved roads of the county hive have im withstood all floods in good 8 shape haba though in many instances the cu lverts failed to carry the waters and a great quantity of water flowed over the grades |
