Show POLITICS OR EATS presidents are never hungry they have plenty to eat many of those who help to elect them are often hungry they have very little to eat political parties raise millions of dollars for the purpose of electing their man president at every election much of that money is wasted the candidate of the contributors is defeated and when the other fellow gets in every one who contributed tri buted to his fund expects to receive something in return some would be cabinet officers or ambassadors or judges I 1 or high officials of this that or the other others are more humble and would be satisfied to annex any old kind of a job with a pay envelope attached but they want SOMETHING and there is a mighty grouch if they dont get it perhaps that accounts for much of the sour discontent we see in our country every four years there are more dollars spent in electing a president than there are jobs to hand around in in return for votes and why spend all of this money any way it be just as well to nominate a man and then simply leave the people to do their own on thinking and voting iball of this money spent in buying votes if so it is criminal Is it spent in telling people how hov to vote it is money wasted pe popple have brains of their own and will vote as they please regardless of all of the politicians in creation or is it with the expectation of landing a job or of securing indus industrial erml and commercial favors after the successful candidate goes into office in either case it is questionable tio if not reprehensible buying jobs is illegal ex tending favor sin return for votes dotes is un american now if these contributors really feel that they simply must part with their money why not have the party chiefs chief ga gather therit it in and dump it into a fund with which to fe feed ec the te hungry and clothe the destitute nobody cares a rap about all of this screeching and hullabaloo ab aloo that attend 9 a presidential campaign 00 it is just so much money thrown to the birds and the unemployed need it worse than the birds do |
