Show 'WORLD OF FUN" TO BENEFIT 2 L.D.S. WARDS1 More than 2500 folk are expected expect-ed to attend "A World of Fun" banquet and show to be staged Friday night at the home of Horace A. Sorensen for the benefit bene-fit of" the classroom addition to the Garden Heights and the Rose-crest Rose-crest LDS wards. The elaborate affair will begin at 6:30 p. m. at the Sorensen estate at 3000 Connor street. There will b ea special presentation presenta-tion honoring President David O. McKay. Songs, dances and international folklore will be presented to the throngs who attend .the celebration, celebra-tion, Mr. Sorensen said. A delicious deli-cious dinner also will be served. Dinner music will be played by the Beesley String Ensemble. Bishop D. James Cannon will appear as Uncle Sam to lend a patriotic tone to the evening, and Robert Burgenes, as trumpeter, will herald the specialty presentations. presenta-tions. The Bush Novelty band will offer the "Spirit of '76," and Kay Ulmer and Roberta Thurman will appear as majorettes. Native Swiss song, dance and music will be offered by the Berne Switzerland group composed of Louise Katwik, Lydie Trevethick, Dorothy Lerch and company. A Scottish sword dance and the Archie McNair Bagpipers will lend a unique touch to the program featuring Ruth Rhyt eand Elaine Shirts. The Fingal , Segerstedt company will present "A Little Bit of Sweden," and the Dance of the Wooden Shoes, presented by the Hollanders will feature Cora De-Waal De-Waal and Associates. The Tiki club will present "Echoes of Maoriland, New Zealand," Zea-land," a program of action songs, dances and war cry, arranged by Wi Perre Amaru. |
