Show KWIC Sets Date To Go On The Air, Mon. Radio station KWIC, 1570 on your dial, officially makes its bow to the southeast area Monday, November 12. Test programs begin be-gin today and will continue through Sunday. During this time reception recep-tion in various parts of the valley will be carefully checked. KWIC's official federal okay was received by manager Howard Pingree yesterday noon. The staff selected to put the station sta-tion on the air is headed by Mr. Howard Pingree, manager, ably assisted by his assistant and program pro-gram director Mitzi Bailey. Announcers An-nouncers are Paul Matheson and Wm. (Bill) Henley. Jake Hodge is the engineer. Two well-known Salt Lakers from the Deseret News are on the staff as specialists: Jim Grebe will handle sports and Jack Gerrard, finance and business features. fea-tures. William J. Curtis, commercial com-mercial department and Neal Nelson, Nel-son, auditor round out the staff. The modern downtown-Sugar House station has two studios, a control room, reception room, sales office, and executive office. It's beautifully and tastefully appointed appoint-ed throughout. Gigantic and exciting contests with hundreds of valuable prizes will be launched. Through KWIC, newspapers and other means the public will be notified. Meantime every foot of the 233 foot KWIC tower is vibrating as it entertains the up-and-coming 10 per cent of the State's population popula-tion living in the progressive southeast south-east section of Salt Lake Valley. |
