Show Chamber Ballots On Board Slack W. Winburn, architect and planning expert, outlined plans of the new $3 million shopping center being constructed by Curtis and Papanikolas at the Sugar House chamber of commerce luncheon. Wednesday. Emphasizing the new center would not take business away from. Sugar House, but rather promote-more promote-more business: 1. Because of its close proximity proxim-ity tov the business center; 2. Merchandise variety; 3. Extensive parking. Balloting for the new directors resulted in the election of Richard K. Forman, South East Shoe; Joe Aquila, Woolworth; B. W. Vincent, First Security Bank; Leon L. Hal-verson, Hal-verson, K O'B; Ralph G Smith, Smith Advertising; C. G. (Neal) White, First Security, and Dale R. Curtis, Curtis Coal. Three will be elected as new directors at the September meeting. Horace A. Sorensen gave a report re-port on the progress of the park to be constructed at the prison site. New members introduced were Keith D. McCarthy, George Iver-son, Iver-son, Lynn Hansen and Lester Johnson. John-son. Approximately 70 attended and special guests were Dale and Marvin Mar-vin Curtis and Nick and Gus Papanikolas. |
