Show SUP CHIEFTAIN WINS MERIT HISTORY AWARD Nicholas G. Morgan. Sr., president presi-dent of the National .Society of the Sons of Utah Pioneers, Tuesday received the award of merit of the American Association for State and Local History. Dr. A. R. Mortensen, executive secretary of the Utah Historical Society,' presented the award Tuesday Tues-day evening on behalf of the national na-tional association, with headquarters headquar-ters in Washington, D. C. Morgan attorney and businessman, business-man, has long been associated with the Utah pioneer and historical activities. The proects he has sponsored spon-sored include the Lincoln Memorial Memo-rial statue at New Salem Park. 111., and the proposed ere c tino fmnoao and the proposed erection of a monument at Ft. Sutter Cal., commemorating com-memorating the discovery of gold by the members of the Mormon Battalion. |
