Show Food Fakirs Flop American Diet Habits Are Changing for the Better, States Nutritionist. Besides changing the food habits of the American people, wartime conditions are also improving the American diet. In other words, says Dr. James A. Tobey, New York nutrition nu-trition authority, the American people peo-ple have gotten over their "food fad" spell. The decline of food faddism in the U. S. is due to the progress of the National Nutritional program which is publicizing true facts about diet and health through federal, state, local and Red Cross authorities. The food fakir, the charlatan, today to-day has a very small audience listening lis-tening to him as he spiels off what he has to sell either in the way of a product, an idea, or a book, said Dr. Tobey. Because of the bread enrichment program, the American public has had available about 35 per cent more of the necessary "morale" vitamin, thiamin and vitamin Bl since Pearl Harbor. |
