Show Bus Service Needs Rescheduling 1VTORE people living in this area would be shopping in Su-i-'Agar House if bus schedules and routes permitted them to do so without a lot of time wasted. Several residents living in the bench area east of Sugar House have pointed out that it is actually easier to take a bus into town and return than it is to Sugar House, only a few blocks away. This means that there are thousands of dollars spent in town which should, and would go to merchants here if it were convenient for people to come here by bus. One housewife said that she would much rather come to Sugar House for most of her shopping needs, but after waiting one hour one evening for a No. 9 bus to take her home, she decided it was too difficult dif-ficult to do her shopping in Sugar House. Other complaints on bus routing have come from other parts of the east bench, as well as from East Mill Creek. In every case the complaint points out that it is easier to go to town than it is to go to SugarHouse. It is time for merchants and residents of the southeast area to petition the 'bus company to reorganize their service out here so that it is not discriminatory to business in this area. |
