Show S. H. Rotary Honors Cecil CeckweSI at Meet "Cecil Cockwell Day" was the feature at the Sugar House Rotary Ro-tary Club luncheon Thursday as local Rotaiians honored the man who was "largely instrumental instru-mental in the founding of the local club." The meeting was presided over by club president, Dr. Thomas E. Robinson who introduced intro-duced guests and the program chairman, president emeritus of Westminster College, Rev. Herbert Her-bert W. Reherd. Dr. Reherd introduced in-troduced two club members who spoke briefly. Mr. Jack Burt spoke on "What Rotary Has Meant to Me." Mr. Willard Richards' subject was, "What Rotary Has Meant to Sugar House." Dr. Reherd presented Mr. Cockwell with a diamond pin in behalf of the club. He spoke briefly on the work of Mr. Cockwell in getting the Sugar House organization established. Mr. Cockwell then addressed the group, outlining some of the early history of the foundation of the local club in 1936. He expressed his appreciation of the honor given him and told of his great admiration and respect for the Sugar House Rotary Club. Musical numbers were offered bv students of Westminster College. |
