Show E. Mill Creek Celebration Huge Success East Mill Creek again walked away with honors for the outstanding out-standing July Fourth celebration celebra-tion in the state featuring the traditional children's parade, a soap-box derby and a full day of amusements for youngsters. Gordon- Hanson, son o Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Hanson, 3230 south on 19-10 E. won the soapbox soap-box derby over a fast field of contestants. Scores of floats depicting de-picting nursery rhyme characters, charac-ters, patriotic scenes and even's, featuring pets and miscellaneous miscellan-eous subjects, rolled tyst the judges in the parade. Red. wlvte and blue were the predominating colors. Reigning over the days' events in regal splendor were the royally roy-ally selected in spirited competition competi-tion several davs ago: Suzan Garner, daughter of Mr. frt Mrs. Thomas F. Garner: 1553 Mill Creek Way. queen: Warren Dansie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wal-lace Dansie, 375S 23rd East. king-Linda king-Linda Lou Hazen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oren J. Hazen. 5078 Holladay Blvd.. queen's attendant, attend-ant, ami Clarence Pollard, son of Mr.and Mrs. C. E. Pollard Jr.. G57 Browning Ave., king's attendant. Edwin E. Johnson was general gener-al chairman of the celebration. |
