Show TOP JERSEY HERD HERE IN SOUTHEAST Results of a recent classification classifi-cation test conducted by Professor Pro-fessor Salisbury of Ohio University Uni-versity showed that one of the finesK. jersey dairy her.ds in Utah is located within a few blocks of the Sugar House business busi-ness district. Owner of the fine herd is L,. Burt Bigler, 2971 South 7th East. Accompanying Prof. Salisbury to the Bigler farm were I. W. Stater, western states representative represent-ative of the American Jersey Cattle Club; Edgar Smoot, Utah president of the organization, and other states graders. Two of MY. Bigler's cows received re-ceived a 'high, very good" rating, rat-ing, and the remainder a "good plus," which compared favorably favor-ably with any herd in the state. Of 1300 cattle judged by Professor Pro-fessor Salisbury during his present pres-ent tour throughout Utah, Idaho, Ida-ho, Washington, Oregon and California, only one cow received re-ceived a higher rating than Mr. Bigler's two prize animals. Mr. Bigler, who is a prominent promi-nent Salt Lake insurance executive, exec-utive, started his present dairy herd eleven years ago. It is an outgrowth of a love for fine cattle cat-tle which dates back to his boyhood boy-hood days. |
