Gardiner Jr., in the Salt Lake Temple March 28. Phyllis Ashton in Brid d Whirl 1 One, of the most popular girls in this area is Phyllis Ashton. Her numerous friends have already al-ready filled her pre-nuptial date book with parties, luncheons, dinners and teas. Miss Ashton had her engagement engage-ment and approaching marriage announced by her mother, Mrs. Marvin 0. Ashton, Saturday at a luncheon given in the Empire room of the Hotel Utah. Sunday Sun-day afternoon Phyllis showed her trousseau to her many friends. Co-hostesses with Mrs. Ashton for the announcement luncheon were two of Phyllis' ' siste1". Mrs. Howard C. Badger and. Mrs. Louis R. Curtis.. The prospective bridegroom is Dan S. Gardiner Jr., a son of Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Gardiner, 1707 21st East. The- betrothed couple will be married March 28 in the Salt Lake Temple. The Gardiners will entertain at a wedding breakfast following the ceremony and then there will be an informal reception that evening at the Ashton home. They will honeymoon in southern south-ern Ut&h arid then return to a brand new home on 17th South and 21st East. Miss Ashton is a graduate of the University of Utah where she affiliated with the Chi Omega sorority and was a member mem-ber of Beta Delta Mu. Her father is the late M. O. Ashton, of the presiding bishopric. She is teaching at McKSnley school at present. Mr. Gardiner has filled an Eastern States mission and served his country in the merchant mer-chant marine for three years. He is a Delta Phi at the University Univer-sity of Utah. He will graduate this month. |
