Show Cus Forney's New Accordion Took 12 Years Known as "The World's Mightiest Accordion," the highly high-ly acclaimed Farney model ac-cordiorgan ac-cordiorgan is the result of almost al-most ten years of effort by its designer, Francis S. (Gus) Farney, Far-ney, 776 East Twenty-first South. Mr. Farney started his original orig-inal designing and experimentation experimen-tation for the accordion in 1938 He contacted the Italo-Amer ican Company of Chicago in 19-10 concerning the building of the first model. The company was unable to do so because of the shortage of materials especially es-pecially the important Swedish steel and celluloid caused by the war in Europe. Continuing local reed matching match-ing and switch experiments throughout 1910 and 1011, Mr. Farney designed a power driv- tial ampllification features was completed. Mr. Farney returned to Salt Lake City in 1945 and set up his original design parts for demonstration purposes. Final design for the present model were submitted to Acme-Accordion Acme-Accordion Factory in 1948 who would not attempt to build the instrument. The Italo-American Company, Compa-ny, however, agreed to build the first model which was completed com-pleted in 1949 after six months of building.
