S.U.P. to Hear Weston Speak At Mon. Meet Sugar House Sons of Utah Pioneers Pi-oneers members will hear Joseph Jo-seph H. Weston, author of "These Amazing Mormons," Monday evening, Sept. 27, at their regular monthly meeting at Weasku Inn, 22G3 E. 2ist fSo. Newly appointed officers and advisory board members will also be introduced, accoi(Jing to Horace A. Sorensen, president. Mr. Weston became Interested in the Mormons, their doctrine and history, when he served at local military establishments during the war. His activities have taken him to all parts of the United States and across the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. He returned to Salt Lake City in the spring of 1947. New Officers New officers to be introduced are: Lorenzo Summei'hays, secretary; sec-retary; Ralph Barnes, teasuver; L. Claire Likes, historian; I. I Emerson Curtis, chaplain; and David S. King, judge advocate. Advisory board members are; , Earl J. Glade, Thomas B. Ijeff, Dr. Leslie D. Burbidge, Henry S. Florence, L. Burt Bigler, T. Edgar Lyon, Howard McKean, Sterling Nelson, Gordon Hinckley, Hinck-ley, R. H. Wootton, A. William Lund, Parley P. Giles, Harold II. Jenson and Thomas B. Child. All members are invited to attend at-tend Monday's meeting, M?. Sorensen said, and a special invitation in-vitation is extended to those who are eligible for S.U.P. membership. mem-bership. Prospective members may make reservations by phoning any of the officers not later than Monday evening, Sept. 27. Also to be discussed at the meeting is a special dinner meeting to be held in October at the H. A. Sorensen home, 3000 Connor St. Definite plans for a museum to be built on the prison pris-on site state park will be formulated for-mulated that night. i |
