Show News of Interest From Holladay CORRESPONDENT Mrs. Mclvin II. Wright 2470 E. 48th So. Hoi. 710 Lt. Col. and Mrs. Harold. E. Thomas, 2164 E. 418th So., with their three children, left recently recent-ly for Chicago to spend several months while Col. Thomas "is attending at-tending school. The twins, Sheila and Sharon, and their brother, Jon, were mighty happy to see their daddy again after his three-years absence ab-sence in the Pacific where Col. Thomas was attached to Gen. MacArthur's staff. Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Hill, 2117 E. 48lh So., announce the i marriage of their daughter, ' Jeanette, to Charles Warren Mct- Ciilf, on Oct. 26, in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Metcalf is a discharged veteran having served two years overseas. Mr. and Mrs. Metcalf are now honeymooning in California. Mrs. J. L. Lint on, 2255 Arbor lane, has just returned from a three-weeks vacation in Denver where she visited her parents. Mrs. D. W. Richards Jr., 4580 Holladay blvd., returned from Boise, Ida., where she was called to the bedside of her seriously ill father. We are happy that he is better now and is spending some time at the home of Mrs. Richards. A gala reunion of the "Jolly Boys" and their wives was enjoyed en-joyed last Thursday evening, Nov. 1, at the home of Roy and Lucille Hobbs. Two of our former Holladay residents, Lee and Ina Sheets, came up from Provo to enjoy the festivities with Kay --ami Louise Hammond and Dorothy and Mel Wright. LIOXS CLUB NEWS The second annual Holladay Fall Festival, sponsored by the Holladay Lions club, will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at the Old Mill club. Roy Linton, chairman of the entertainment committee, is in charge of the affair. He announces an-nounces that dancing will start promptly at 9 p. m. There will be a floor show ana prizes galore. The public is invited to attend. at-tend. Members of the Holladay Lions club attended a luncheon at Fort Douglas, Thursday, Nov. 1, as guests of Brig. Gen. Herbert Her-bert T. Perrin. After the luncheon they were escorted through the separation center to get a birds-eye view of the orientation of a soldier before he returns to civilian life. Once again the Holladay Lions tasted defeat on the bowling alleys. This time their victors were the East Mill Creek Lions. |
