Show Southeast Lovelies Urged To Prepare For "Miss Sugar House" Fete June 22 Plans were formulated this week for Sugar House's annual queen contest to be held on Friday evening, June 22, according to Paul L. Pehrson, president of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce. Lovelies living in the southeast area were urged to enter the contest by Mr Pehrson. Contest details will be announced an-nounced next.week. Last year at the "Miss Sug- H ar House" contest, the stores p i held community "Open House." Entertainment events are also , being planned, Mr. Pehrson said. D cr Potential queen contestants S-T5 were reminded that the glory of queenship does not just last for one evening. After she is crowned, "Miss Sugar House" reigns at all Sugar House celebrations cele-brations for the entire year. In former years, the winner of the "Miss Sugar House" competition com-petition has been offered choice modeling jobs, and have been offered television and screen opportunities. First contest for the queen of the community was held in May, 1947. MISS AMERICA, MAYBE This year the winner has a splendid Opportunity to climb the ladder of royalty, according accord-ing to Mr. Pehrson. "Miss Sug-1 ar House" will be given a chance to try for "Miss Utah," and the winner of the latter contest will get a shot at being "Miss America." "Just think," Mr. Pehrson mused, "Miss Sugar House might very well be "Miss America." |
