Show Ottleys Store Notes I Nineteenth Birthday 'Ottley's, Inc., paint, wallpa-;per wallpa-;per and glass firm with stores in Sugar House, Murray and Rose Park, is celebrating its anniversary an-niversary this month. The original orig-inal Ottley store, The Paint Pot, was opened nineteen years ago in Sugar House, at 1074 East 21st South (ipresent home of Neisen R. Bank Jewery), by Mr. Sidney J. Ottley. In 1939, Mr. Ottley acquired the property prop-erty at 2157 Highland Drive, where the business was moved and where it is now located. After World War II, another Ottley store was opened in Murray Mur-ray by a son, Warren S. Ottley. This, like the parent store, prospered pros-pered and outgrew two loca-! loca-! tions before being established at I its present site, 4766 South 1 State. In April, 1951, the two firms merged and incorporated as Ottley's, Inc., with Sidney J. Ottley as president; Warren S. Ottley, vice president, and W,a3'ne W. Ottley, secretary-treasurer. secretary-treasurer. In October, 1951, the elder Mr. Ottley, together with his wife and son, Jerold. left to preside over the New Zealand Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During their anniversary, all the personnel of Ottley's invite their many i'rieiuls to drop in at any of their stores for a friendly friend-ly visit and a look at the beautiful beau-tiful new colors in paint and wnij iaper available for home decoration. |
