Show "Sugar House in 1977" Plans To Be Displayed at Library A scale model of "Sugar" House in 1977" will be on display in the south board room of the Sprague Library from Wednesday, April 23, to Monday evening, April 28, according to Horace A. Sorensen, public affairs chairman of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce. The model will be the central part of a big display of drawings, draw-ings, plans, and projected developments for the future of Sugar House which have been recently completed by the University of Utah Department of Architecture in the School of Fine Arts. The study was started a year ago by advance students in archi-ture, archi-ture, with an extensive land use) careful research into various survey, which was followed by , community aspects. i STEP FORWARD Acclaimed as one of the most : progressive steps taken by the ; Sugar House Chamber of Commerce Com-merce to insure a good future . for this community, the project proj-ect will depict how Sugar House can grow through advance ad-vance planning. The University . of Utah School of Fine Arts is ! headed by Dr. Avard Fairbanks, and the Department of Architecture Archi-tecture is under the direction of Prof. Roger Bailey. Working with Prof. Bailey in the direction direc-tion of the project are Assistant Professors- James H. Acland, Charles W. Moore and Gordon Heck. This Sugar House plan is the "largest major project undertaken undertak-en by the university's Department Depart-ment of Architecture," according accord-ing to Prof. Bailey. |
