Show O 01 f SChina-Korea Veteran To Speak 5 To S. H. Chamber Members Tues. 2? Sugar House Royalty Will Be Guests at Luncheon Meeting To Hear Col. Hubert Cole Col. Hubert M. Cole, who served with General Stillwell in China during World War II, will be the speaker at the monthly meeting of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce, Tuesday noon, Aug. 15, at the Beau Brummel Restaurant, according to A. W. (Mickey) Hart, chamber president. Korea, scene of currerit hostilities, will the main subject of Colonel Cole's address, but he also will review certain military mili-tary highlights of the world situation. Colonel Cole served in Korea following World War II, and previous to coming to the University of Utah military science sci-ence department two years ago. He is a graduate of the U. S. Military Academy. Royal Guests Special guests of the chamber on Tuesday will be the 1950 Sugar House Queejn, Miss Gloria Ashby, and her attendants, attend-ants, Miss Carole Brewer and Miss Jo Ann Timpson. I During the luncheon, which will begin at 12:13 p.m., Stephen C. Richards, membership chairman, chair-man, will introduce new members mem-bers and guests. Dale R. Curtis, Cur-tis, public affairs chairman, will give a brief report on current developments in regard to new streets for Sugar House, Mr. Hart announced. Previous Meeting The chamber's board of directors di-rectors will meet the preceding day, Monday, Aug. 14, with Joe L. Christensen, commissioner of streets; L. C. Romney, commissioner com-missioner of parks, and Roy W. McLeese, city engineer, to map plans for a new east-west street south of the D&RGW tracks in Sugar House, which will join Highland Drive and 9th East. It also is anticipated, according accord-ing to Mr. Hart, that the subject sub-ject of a community restroom will be discussed. All chamber members are urged to attend the meeting, to hear Colonel Cele's timely message, mes-sage, Mr. Hart announced. |
