Show r i I I ' ' s i. . v v. J j : ... ' Hi kids! It seems like winter always brings fires, but I never thought we would have one on our street. When I came home from school the other day I noticed that all the windows were open in the Bob Gray's house and there were lots of cars and people gathered around. Mama told me that there had been a fire. Their whole living: room was burned. We surely felt sorry. Mama couldn't get my little brother Jay home long after the fire was out and the fire engines had gone. He wanted to see the whole thing. And then to make things worse Kristine and George Malouf 's father's Sports Shop burned to the ground. I had another surprise when I came home the other day. We had the cutest little Indian baby frirl in our house. She had jet black hair that was as smooth as silk. She had big brown eyes that were shining like stars. Her name was Peggy Na A Nina Le Rose. This little Ute Indian papoose came from the Uintah Indian Reservation. She has been sick in the hospital with pneumonia and whooping cough. A nice white lady, Mrs. W. E. Tangren, is taking care of her until spring so she won't get sick again out on ther eservation. Tuesday our Primary class went to the Primary Children's Hospital. We waited for an hour in line but when we .got in we thought it was worth it. We saw the lovely play rooms, dining rooms and the wards with the cute patch work quilts on the beds, and the stained glass windows win-dows with nursery rhymes on them. Nearly 3000 children from Idaho, Wyoming and Utah went through the building the day we did. "Bye for now" Lyn ne. Joke: Why are fences around cemeteries ? Answer. People are just dying to get in. |
