Show EDITORIALS O Sugar House Develops a Personality MORE than a year ago we wrote an editorial with the theme: Does Sugar House have a personality? The point we tried to make was that communities develop personalities just like human beings do. Of course, the community is the sum total of the personalities of its citizens. At that time we pointed out that Sugar House did not have a fully developed personality, but that it certainly had all the potentialities. We can now say after the brilliant celebration April S ajxl 9 that Sugar House has clone much toward the development develop-ment of an unique personality. On every hand we have heard praise of the community. , "Those fellows are really live wires out there in Sugar louse . They .surely pull together . . . They know how to draw a crowd . . . Their stores are certainly nice . . . It's pleasant to shop in Sugar House ..." Remarks like those were heard everywhere. And they were deserved. Sugar House did pull together. For a change, it can be said that there were a lot of "livewires" especially on the celebration committee. A personality is not only made up of what people think oi you, but actually what you are. Most people think that Sugar House is progressive. The thing wre must do now is to show ourselves that we really are (progressive. It will take a lot of work over a long period of time to develop a real personality ' for Sugar House. We have started in the right direction. |
