New Ration Books Issuance dates for war ration book four in the state of Utah will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, October 27, 28 and 29, Hamer S. Culp chairman of the Salt Lake City war price and rationing ra-tioning board announced this week Distribution will be made thro the schools of the state because of their ability to do the work quickly and efficiently and their patriotic cooperation in the past. Issuance of the new book, which is the last approximaely two years, will involve but a few minutes min-utes time. All persons are eligible eligi-ble to secure war ration book four except members of the armed forces fed at camps, officer messes mes-ses or other government establishments; estab-lishments; persons confined to public Institutions; and persons residing re-siding in the United States for less than sixty days. Aplicants for new ration books must have war ration book three with them to present as proof of their right to receive war ration book four. Members of the same family must apply on the same form, which may be signed and presented by any person whom v the family delegates to act for it. But for each individual listed on the application, a war ration . book three mut be presented for stamping and returned to the applicant. ap-plicant. Previous to this, the area rent director has always had the autharity to order a eduction in rent where excessive, but he could not order a refund to the day of fist renting of unregisteed housing hous-ing accommodations. 3N"ev Tire Rulings Eligibility for new passenger tires (Grade 1) has been restricted restrict-ed on C book drivers with a mileage mile-age of 601 miles or more per month. All B drivers and some C book holders will now be eligible eligi-ble only for used and recovered recapped tires. The number of new passenger tires available for rationing ra-tioning in the October quta will be reduced by one-fifth, the OPA recently announced. Quota for farm tractor and implement tires for October is 59,000 as compered with 73,600 in September. |
