J. Bailey, 210 East 24th South street, is on duty in the Division Headquarters Executive Office. She was formerly a stenographer sten-ographer and bookkeeper for a local advertising agency. Inspecion day at the United States Marine Corps Headquarters, Headquart-ers, Chicago, Illinois, finds Srr-'i geant Florence R. Bailey, daught-of daught-of Mrs. J. J. Bailey, of 216 East 24th South street, Salt Lake City stepping in' line to fill the space vacated by the Marine who she enlisted to free to fight. Sergeant' Bailey (first girl on left i is shown passing inspection by Sergeant Ser-geant Major J. G. Bradley, who Private Mary J. Blackham, U. S. M. C. W. R., daughter of Mrs. Hannah C. Blackham, of 133 North West Temple street, Salt Lake City has been ordered to report to the Marine Corps Training Train-ing Schools, at Lejeune, North Carolina, for a four weeks indoctrination indoc-trination course. During that period she will be instructed in physical conditioning, condition-ing, close order drill, and lectures on origanization of the Marine Corps, map reading, weapons, airial photography interpretation, chemical warfare, military customs cus-toms and courtesies. At the conclusion of the course she may be selected to attend advanced schools at New River, or be sent to a Marine base to release re-lease a Marine for combat duty. |
