Show Toastmistresses Around The World Scotland was the country to be visited this month as Holladay Toastmistress Club held its regular meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1:00 p.m. at the Beau Brumel. Highlight of the meeting was an illustrated lecture-tour by Paul W. Jones of his recent trip to Scotland. Guests were to join the travelers for this stop as it is time for the annual Model Meeting and prospective pro-spective new members had a chance to see the Club in action and evaluate what it might do for them. Purpose of the Club is to help members use our language with grace and facility, to become familiar -with parliamentary procedures, pro-cedures, to learn to speak with greater ease before an audience, to "think on .their feet." Mrs. Frank Hughes, President, was in charge. Mrs. Tom Jones gave the opening inspiration; Mrs. J. E. Hughes led the group in the Toastmistress Pledge; Mrs. K. Balis presented the table topics; and Mrs. D. Judy acted as Toastmistress. "The Value of Toastmistress Work" was the subject of a talk by Mrs. T. McClain and Mrs. W.F. Page completed com-pleted the program with her Ice-breaker(the Ice-breaker(the first speech given by eaah member). Mrs. J. E. Hughes evaluated the meeting. The Club is open to all who are interested in self-improvement. |
