Young Matrons Club of YWCA held installation of officers and final meeting of the year at the ' Prudential Federal Building, Wed-nesday, May 25. Speaker was Earl J. Glade. His subject .was "Looking Ahead.' Outgoing officers: Mrs. Charles Pfaff, president; Mrs. Darwin Penney, vice-preside- nt; Mrs. Clarence Hollingshead, 2nd vice-preside- nt; Mrs. Fred Whiting, secretary; and Mrs. Ivan Pack, treasurer. Utah Press Women are jour-neying to Orem Saturday, June 11, for their June luncheon meeting. ) Planned for. the day is an inter-esting tour of the movie studio at Brigham Young University. Summer Festival. "Annie Get Your Gun" will be the Broadway musical portion of the annual festival, which by now is a traditional July activity in Utah. The curtain will rise on - "Annie" July 1 and the show will play nightly in the U. of U. Stadium Bowl through July 9, with the exception of Sunday, July... 3. i Camp Yeladim, the outstanding day camp in this area, has now opened its registration for boys and girls, ages 3-1- 1; The day camp program is based at the new Jewish Community Center, 2416 East 1700 South. The program will begin on June 13 through July 22, a six week period. There will be a half-da- y nursery for children ages 3 to 5 and a full day, 9:00 a.m. tc 4:00 p.m. for children ages 5 through 11. The fees for the program are quite low, for it is a subsidized camp? for the full day program, . $65 and for the half day nursery, $35. The fee includes medical and accident insurance. Art Barn School, 54 Finch Lane, has opened classes for the summer: A tremendous program for all ages with instructors from the first ranks of Utah artists is planned. It is not too late to enroll. Phone EL 26 for information. SOUTH EAST HIGHLIGHTS On Wednesday, June 8th, at 7 p.m. the Sugar House Business and Professional Women's Club met at the' North Shelter irf Li-berty Park. This was the first regular meeting of the new club year and was presided over by the newly elected president, Mrs. J. C. Nation. Miss Deanna Bonnet, sponsored by the Club for Girls' State, was also present. ' Delegates and members have just returned from the annual con-vention held at Cedar City. Present as delegates from Sugar House were Mrs. J. C. Nation, Mrs. A. L. Cooley, Miss AnneKidd, Mrs. H. A. Elton, Mrs. Ted Miller, Miss Eliz-abeth Mitchell, Mrs. J. M. Redd, Mrs. W. E. Anderson, and Mrs. Ethel Anderson. Miss Ada .Burt and Mrs. A. R. Topham also were in attendance. . Eight other mem-bers from the local Club were representatives. Dilworth Little League Baseball season is underway. Games are held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday and Thursday. Major league games are at 6:00 p.m. As of June 2nd the standings were even for Steven-Brow- n, Dan's Dodgers, Sproul Realty, and Transport Equipment. June 9th will see Bearing Engineering vs. Western Savings and Loan, and South East Lions vs. Safety Brakes Company. Service Clubs During the past year the Sugar House Jaycees have been looking for a project which would do most in forwarding the development of parks in the Sugar House area. They have voted unanimously to turn the entire remaining proceeds of their current light bulb sale project to the purchase of play-ground equipment for the Sugar House Park. The equipment which ' they plan to purchase will be of the famous Dennis the Menace variety, specially designed for the Greater Peninsula Jaycees and installed at Menlo Park; California. The Sugar House group plans to seek per-mission to install the equipment during the summer, provided plans can be arranged through the Park Commission and the light bulb sale can be promptly completed. The Sugar House Jayceettes held their closing business meeting for the year at the home of Mrs. Don Thompson. Mrs. Ralph Montgomery of the' Murray Jaycettes was guest speaker. Elections were held after the meeting and new officers were introduced to the group: Mrs. Jim Russell, president; Mrs. Orson Wright, vice-preside- nt; Mrs. Richard Cooper, secretary-treasure- r. Outgoing officers are: Mrs. Tim Whittaker, president; Mrs. Lynn Fluckiger, vice-preside- nt; Mrs. Richard Watkins, secretary. Sugar House Rotary Club Attending the recent Rotary International Convention in Miami Beach, Florida were five members from the Sugar House Rotary Club. They were: Holger M.
