Such familiar songs as "Adeste Fidelis" and "Stille Nacht" gave the students the spirit of Christmas around the world. One of the interesting assem-blies during the week emphasize the thrill and anticipation of Christmas by little children. A musical presentation of Hans Christian Anderson's "The Little Match Girl" highlighted . the program. "Twas The Night Before Christmas" was" the' theme carried put. at. the big Christmas dance to be held Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. Bill Link's Combo furnished the music and an entertaining inter-mission program was planned selves to bedeck the rooms, and prizes will be given this coming we k for the best three. Titans are certainly doing well in all their pre-seas- on basketball games. The past week, two games have been played in which Olympus was victorious in both. I think it's time to congratulate the ne team and let them know that we all are behind them all the way. Friday night was the annual Girls Association Dance. It was entitled Noel Enchante." For weeks ahead of time, girls have be n preparing for the dance, asking dates, and making last minute plans. The dance received a wonderful turnout, and everyone enjoyed the evening tremendously. Elected king of the dance was Warren Dansie, with 1st attendent, Larry Hanks and 2nd attendent, Dennis Daughters. The decoration committee had an unusual task-collecti- ng tumble-weed- s. The ceiling was covered by these tumble-wee- ds and scattered throughout the gym were decorat-ed Christmas trees. by Judy Bierman and Bette Jo Slagle. chairmen of the affair. Members of the German club as well as those from East, South, and West held a gay partv at East Vligh Wednesday night. Board of Directors. " A full and interesting program was outlined for the year by the President, Mr. Anderson, a club sponsor outlined the F.T.A. goals for the 'members and pointed out the tremendous opportunities for service in the field of teaching. Refreshments concluded the evening. Olympus High School was dis-missed on the 23rd for the holidays. Next week should be even more exciting with many Christmas act-ivities planned. In a very impressive ceremony twenty-fiv- e members and officers were initiated in to the Future Teachers of American Club at Olympus High School. Each member lit a candle from the torch of truth and learning signify-ing their acceptance of the F.T.A. pledge and standards.
