She is an avid reader of fiction stories but also enjoys biography and poetry. "I like to read books of all types, if they are well-writte- n and not the trashy type," she com-mented. Miss Sprague, who lives at 29 So. State St., spent her birthday with a small celebration with ma-ny of her friends calling on her durine the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Neslen, 2766 South 10th East, are the artists, both of whom are prominent in Utah art circles. Mr. Neslen is the art instructor at Granite High School and Mrs. Neslen, who paints under her maiden name of Florence Frandsen, is a former instructor there. The paintings are in oils, egg tempra, and a technique of water color on wood which Miss Frand-sen has developed. The technique tends to give an Oriental flavor :to the paintings, but according to the petite lady, this is purely ac-cidental. The couple is building their own home, and according to them, have not been painting anything which didn't need sandpapering 'first. They have built a studio in ithe lower section of their lovely split level home, and are eagerly looking forward to getting back to ;the serious side of painting. It is to be hoped that their vacation ,from the easel will not be long, because they each in their own jway bring a bit of delight into each canvas. Mrs. Walsworth Entertains Club Mrs. Ralph G.
