Show state leaders will address county growers at livestock meeting L C montgomery william peterson harry smith scheduled to speak the states leading livestock authorities are scheduled to speak at the duchesne county livestock development meeting to be held at p m saturday october 7 at the boyack chapter house on the campus of the roosevelt high school county agent carl G D davis a V L s reports 0 arts T they a are r L C N montgomery 1 c n t gomp er y 0 of f I 1 bieber ahey er C city i ty p president es i of the utah state cattle growers association who will discuss the statewide state wide livestock development program plans tor for the launching of which were made at a recent meeting of the association in salt lake city william peterson director of the state extension service who will speak on the importance of livestock in county pla ining harry smith of the utah sta state to agricultural college who will discuss the value of quality livestock the address of welcome will vill be made by horace L allred cha chairman i aman of the meeting and a livestock exhibit will be arranged by walter E atwood bert lusty lynn ross and lee andrew gilbert prominent cattle growers in the county will talk on pointers received while attending the state livestock meeting A special feature of the days program pro grair will be an exhibit of beef cattle showing good quality as compared to poorer quality cattle mr smith wilt will grado grade the cattle and give info information mation on liow how to select better quality livestock importance stressed the purpose of the meeting geeting is to develop a county livestock program which over a period of five years will greatly increase the cash income of the livestock industry through 1 improving the quality of livestock 2 development of a feed lot program and 3 securing better quality stock for or future farmers and 4 11 club members the value to the county and to individual growers of such guch a program cannot be over emphasized and its importance is ig realized in the noteworthy list of sponsors of the meeting which include county agent carl G davis the state extension service the state cattle gr growers association the six du chegne county cattle associations the roosevelt commercial club roosevelt and duchesne lions clubs roosevelt and duchesne junior unia chamber of commerce and future farmers throughout the county Ee everyone invited all interested farmers livestock growers and business men in the county are invited aud urged to be present at the meeting women are especially invited |
