Show myton civil war I 1 veteran dies in pennsylvania death claims robert L bohni 92 who fought with grand army of the republic with the death of robert L rohm 92 in altoona pennsylvania v friday the fast diminishing list of utah civil war veterans grew smaller mr rohm who spent nt a great part of his life in M mi ton died of a heart attack at the home of his niece mrs J edward rose in altoona pa he would have been 92 years old on june 16 mr rohm attended the national encampment of civil war veterans held at the historic gettysburg battle field in pennsylvania last june and returned to myton where he spent the summer he was accompanied compa nied on the trip by his near and long time friend bliss V lott of myton last november after spending a month in the salt lake city veterans hospital mr rohm went east again with his niece letters received from him by friends in myton in the past two weeks told of his plans for an immediate trip west and his intention of attending the annual encampment camp ment of the utah G A R to be held in salt lake city this week for the past several decades mr rohm had answered to roll call of these encampments encamp ments war service his war service was in the sixteenth cavalry of pennsylvania his native state mustered out at the age of 18 after a Y years ears service he soon came west and shortly thereafter identified himself with the gilsonite development in eastern utah his wife died many years ago and near relatives all live in pennsylvania funeral services were held on monday in altoona and burial took place there mr rohm leaves many friends n the basin who looked forwald to his frequent visits |
