Show district banquet to conclude scout week activities Ua Lian riquet will be held evening instead of friday the annual banquet of the roosevelt district ot 01 boy scouts of america tor scouts shouters and parents to be held in the ward nail nad batur saturday day evening will be a biting climax to scout work activities the program for the albair nas lias neen deen cump complied eted aard promises to be very interesting leiai jones will be master ot ceremonies ii i umbers will be given by various troops of the district under the direction of commissioner H hartley bartley heiner these will include a trumpet trio by francis mckinley dick smith and gregg nelson ot fort duchesne dance numbers by earl and mose wright of ft duchesne reading by mervin mecham of neola arid and selections by ahe harmonica band of coola A skit the jones family will be presented by the roosevelt explorer troop A A anderson chief scout executive of the utah national parks council will be present to make award presentations and give a talk eagle ciagle scout during the banquet a court ol of honor will be held and star life and eagle awards will be present ed at this ceremony grant fred rickson will become the third scout in the roosevelt district to tc achieve the rank of eagle responses will be made by mayor george H harrison ray E dillman C C white george walkup and leonard D gardner the three eagle scouts of the district reed clegg miles rillman and grant fredrickson and kirk wilkins who is the youngest scout having made the most advancement week of activity all during the week activities have been earned carried out on tuesday following a basketball game between the roosevelt and scouts in which tile the roosevelt scouts were victorious with a score of 2521 25 21 a fun night was held hot dogs and other refreshments were served following the game after which the group attended mutual on wednesday evening the roosevelt troop met in the scout room at the ward hall and heard president Roosevel ts message and re committed themselves to scout oaths saturday is good turn day and the scouts plan to gather and dispose of all garbage in the city people are asked to put garbage barbag in containers in front of their homes scouts who will have use of the city truck for the day will gather it and carry it to the dump |
