Show hope looms bright for junior college on the last day of the state legislature the senate passed representative Mich tells bill which had already been passed by the house the bill which demoralizes memora lizes the congress of the united states to appropriate to the counties of uintah and duchesne located in the former indian reservation state of utah for the purpose of erecting and equipping a junior college to be used jointly by white and indian pupils because of indian lands and water rights and expense incurred by said counties in educating and protecting the children residing on indian lands is now ready for governor henry H bloods signature which has been practically assured with the unanimous support of uintah basin citizens there is a very good chance that the U S congress will approve the grant of to the basin for junior college purposes A copy of the bill has been sent to president roosevelt to senators king and thomas to representative murdock and much sympathy for the bill was shown in the state legislature by senators and representatives from other counties in the state who readily see the necessity of a junior college here because of geoff geographical isolation representative mitchell plans to follow up the bill with a boosters boasters bo organization and needs the support of every resident of the basin with local support and cooperation it is believed that congress will allot funds for the construction of a junior college |
