Show Song Writer's Inspiration . The song, "After the Ball," was written by the late Charles K. Harris. Har-ris. It was at a ball In Chicago that Harris found w-hat he termed the Insnlrntlon of his song. He and a Kentucky girl to whom his hostess Introduced him danced together to-gether all evening. In their group was nn engaRed couple who quarreled quar-reled during the dance. The man "took home" another girl. His former for-mer fiancee attempted to disguise her unhepplness seeing this, Harris Har-ris thought to himself, "Many a heart Is aching after the ball." This was the Inception of the well-known song. In one hour's time music and lyric were written. |
