topographic surveys of the moon lake reservoir and dransite it made extensive foundation explorations at various times irom from 1928 to 1935 reports were compiled on both the engineering and economic features of the project the general plan of the project includes the construction of the moon lake reservoir on the west fork of the lake fork river tor for the storing of 30 1000 acre feet of winter and flood waters the construction of the yellowstone Yellow stona Mone leeder feeder canal from the east cast fork of like lake fork ea stelly to the aln tah river a distance of 34 miles the construction of the Du duchesne chesno feeder canal from Due duchesne besne to tile the lake fork river a distance of 15 miles and the construction of the lateral and mid view reservoir which will serve as a 4 storage reservoir tor for acre feet and at the same time act as an equalizing reservoir for the duchesne Pu heene chesne feeder canal the duchesne feeder canal will be used to divert the surplus water of the duehesne Duc Due besne river to the indian lands under two of the indian canals which will make the transfer tran fer of indian Indi att canal water to the higher land of the moon lake project the Ild view reservoir will be b used ubel for or the same saine purpose as water v will be stored in this reservoir to bo be delivered to the indian canals on the like lake fork river in the late lata season so BO that the indian awatar inay be diverted up stream aTil into canals of the moon lake project this exchange will not only add materially to the water supply in III general on the lake fork river but will allow the aranar tr anar r of water from the Lake fork river easterly through th the yellowstone low stone feeder canal to replenish the water supply on the t h e uintah river area of 0 the project broje c t the construction st tion of the tha canals wll will also aid in the storing of more water in the moon lake reservoir in years ol of extremely low run off than would otherwise be possible the moon lake reservoir will be used to furnish water during the middle and late summer seaon to t the e nine canal companies which are stockholders in the water users association the whole plan is one to vid kid the land owners on the lake fork and uintah rivers to secure as aa lull full a water supply as aa is possible to obtain within reasonable reach the investigation of the project the formulating of the project plan and the compiling of the reports were done under the oal aal direction of E 0 larson 11 er of vie the bureau of reclamation ia tion for
