| Show ROOSEVELT COUNCIL PLANS development OF WATER SUPPLY the water committee ot of the roosevelt city council met in the city offices wednesday evening to discuss matters pertaining to the acute water situation H L male engl neer for the state board ot of health iwas present and told the commie committee of the conditions as found by him and that after a thorough investigation vesti gation by him he felt to submit it to the committee three propositions ions tor for the betterment of the system his first xe recommendation commendation was that the city immediately drill one or more wells to connect up with the present system of wells which he finds to be excellent water lie ile suggested that the committee arrange for or a geological examination of the present location of the wells by dr of the agricultural college dr earl douglass has already reported favorably upon the structure the second rec was wad for the city to tc construct a line to bennet bench where the main indian bench canal could be tapped provided the necessary arrangements could be made mad tor for the of water from that source his third suggestion was that the city construct a pipe line to the lateral of the dry gulch system which would do away with the necessity of running t the lie water tor for the city through an undesirable and some times unsanitary open canal to the present reservoir system mr air male also instructed ted the committee to arrange at once for the installation of a chlorinator for the treatment of the water with chlorine in tb the e meantime and until this apparatus can be installed the water master Is treating the reservoir water by the broadcasting of 0 chloride of 0 lime which according to mr mali awili effectively treat the water the committee and mayor johanon Jo Jol hason rason discussed the matter thoroughly and will undoubtedly make some recommendation at the meeting of the city council will be held next monday evening it Is miyo mayor johnson s desire that the citizens of roosevelt shall feel free to meet with the council to discuss matters of public interest such as the water question and he will appreciate tue the presence of any individual who has any knowledge and experience in these matters any suggestions will be given full consideration by the council so that the best interests of the community may be served the regular monthly meetings are held at the city office on the first and third mondays of the mouth month |
