Show LADIES REST ROOM DISCUSSED AT A T CITY COUNCIL the semimonthly semi monthly meeting of the roosevelt city council was held 0 1 a monday evening county assessor 1 al and deputy assessor assess asses sir lr C W smith met with the council and discussed various phases of the matter of tax assessments especially that ot of personal property mr air was assured by the council that they were heartily with him in this work A committee from roosevelt culture consisting of mrs airs C I 1 johnson mrs airs frank orser and mrs chrity anderson were present and ask the operation cooperation co rit df the city council in the securing and maintaining a rest roomi room tor for ladies they also asked that arrangements be made to keep the public library open n daily from 11 A AT to 9 P M to at least provid a temp temporary arary rest room until such time as the tha various committees committe ei that are working on the matter are able to provide a suitable place the delegation suggested that the rest room and library could be operated and ana handled conjointly which suggestion was taken under advisement by the counell council and the matter ra referred to tle me library administration commute committe for their views joseph marx and paul S hansen called and requested that them the city change the proposed extension ot of the pipe line from lagoon street to alist south street on first west to the alley just west of this location mr air marks agreed to furnish the additional trench thus required at the same total cost as it if the line had been installed in first west street the council decided to lay a 2 inch galvanized pipe line as outlined due to the presence of alkali in the new location which pipe is now on hand and available axel birch requested the council to take steps to flur furnish nish water for gardens in the north portion of the city and that the necessary ditches be co constructed instructed thereto this was referred to the street and alley committee in connection with the water committee word was received f from rom the state road hoad engineer requesting that the city do the necessary work in in connection with the canal in plat E this was also referred td the street and water committee tor for action heber tinothy requested that gyp flues be given the approval of the council but as such alleyly eddi flues do not conf conform ormi to the city building code and are not approved by the board of fire underwriters who are a recognized authority 0 on n such matters mr air timothyy Timo thys request was wag refused |
