| Show uintah basin base ball league holds meeting wednesday evening of 0 last week the officials and board of directors of the uintah basin baseball league held a meeting in the directors room of the roosevelt commercial club at roosevelt 1 the meeting was called by the president in order to settle a few matters pertaining to the closing of 0 the seasons playing and arranging for the final elimination games the meeting was presided over by the leagues president george 11 II harrison arrison II george cahoon from vernal who is vice president acted as secretary in the absence of win 13 wallis of vernal ray E dillman president and F 0 lundberg chairman ot of finance of this years U B ac I 1 C were were in to explain just what had been arranged by them for the handling of ball games during the three day session mr air dillman explained that the committee was desirous ot of having a baseball game staged on each day mr burns manager of the fort duchesne team made a L motion that the teams in the league play three games during the U ui 13 1 I C and that each game be arranged by the leaggo leagea officials as regular scheduled percentage games which was seconded by dr R Q warnock manager of 0 the roosevelt club the continued on page eight BASE BALL LEAGUE HOLDS MEETING continued ir from 0 pa page g e one motion carried the names ot of ea each ell team was wag then placed in a list hat and drawn with the understanding that the extra garnes games would be played as drawn neola and ft duchesne will play the first day vernal and Duc duchesne besne city the second day and roosevelt and arcadia the third day it was decided at this meeting to play the final elimination series the week following the U B 1 I C in the town making the highest cash bid sealed bids to be opened just before the game of the last lay day of the U B 1 I C it was wag agreed upon by all present that the tour four highest teams play off the elimination games consisting of two games the first day between the first and third and and fourth teams the two winners of these games to play tor for the purse puree the two losing teams of the first days play will receive a cut of 40 per cent of the total bid conry 2020 20 20 and the CO 60 per cent to be split between the final teams it is expected that several towns the basin will send in ili a bid for these elimination games as everyone in the basin would like to see these four teams in action and it Is expected that large crowds will attend the series no matter where III they ey may be played |
