Show ROOSEVELT STAKE conference DRAWS RECORD CROWD many changes in stake high council and the seventies quorum quarterly conference ot of roosevelt stake held in roosevelt saturday and sunday drew the largest attendance in the history of roosevelt the attendance at the sunday afternoon session being between ana all sessions were pres presided aided over by president B 0 colton with his counselors ephraim lambert and fred S M musser u the high council and all stake and ward authorities were well represented elder richard it R lyman of the quorum ot of the twelve was present on saturday afternoon and to th succeeding sessions and addressed each meeting speaking words of inspiration and giving much wise counsel special emphasis was placed upon the importance of the priesthood and many remarkable experiences were related showing the wonderful power of the priesthood at the sunday morning session splendid addresses were given by representatives of 0 the various offices in the priesthood paul S hansen representing the high priests ernest burgess jr a deacon charles burgi a seventy hugh barnes jr a teacher janies james bacon an elder and reed lemon a priest told of 0 faith promoting incidents illustrative ot of the power of 0 the priesthood some excellent musical numbers here ere rendered during the conference con ferenc at the sunday afternoon session the general and stake authorities were sustained several changes were made in the stake high council and in the quorum of 0 seventy some members ot of both cr being called 0 t ward bishoprick bishoprics bish bisho pries and to other positions the following members ot of t the he high bouncil were honorably leber timothy D W marchant Mar Alar chint chant C 1 larsen C I 1 johnson jacob jorensen louis E allred and john i dolton bolton the following I 1 here were unstained as high council of 0 the flake paul S hansen ray as E dill raan john A olsen C fred wahl fuist elmer H jorgensen arthur Vis combe and hugh barnea the following were sus sustained mined is as presidents of the quorum of seventy john R W r L woolf russell todd jesse jesie L maff M er charles L knight iaan W seeley and kleber houtz with wath henry T howes as secretary many visitors from out of 0 town toan remained for the sunday evening session which was held unde the direction 0 of the stake al I 1 A boards an excellent program was presented which included the reading of the essay which was awarded the prize in the recent stake contests the subject was honor thy father and thy mother it was read by the achor miss arvilla timothy elder richard lyman was the principal speaker delivering an excellent talk along pra practical ai lines |
