Show Incorporations decline in '84 in state of Utah SALT LAKE CITY-New business incorporations in Utah declined last year as compared with 1983, figures compiled by the U. S. Small Business Administration Administra-tion (SBA) showed today. IN 1984, business incorporations incorpora-tions in Utah totaled 4,032. "This was only a one percent decline from 1983 and shows that business growth continues to be strong in our area." R. Kent Moon, director of the SBA office in Salt Lake City said. New business incorporations --mostly --mostly all by small firms -- show a fairly steady rise over the years in Utah. For example, there were 1,251 new incorporations in 1967, rising to 2,082 in 1974 and 4,032 in 1984." MOON SAID that in the nation there were a record 634,991 new business incorporations recorded last year. "This total was 5.8 percent per-cent higher than the previous record of 600,400 set in 1983," he added. New business incorporations don't always represent new firms formed during the year. Many do, of course. But an undetermined number represent sole proprietorships proprietor-ships and partnerships that decided decid-ed to incorporate. |
