| Show ARMY TRAINING CORPS dear sir on august 29 at the university ot of utah a meeting of representative school men ot of tile the state was held for the purpose of making more definite some matters relative to the students army training corps in the colleges arid and universities president john A widstoe presided at tile meeting it was the strong feeling ot of tile the assembly that tile the school men of the stale clate operate cooperate co with the government through the war department to the llie end that the schools colleges and universities ot of the state be used to the utmost for military preparation and that at the same time they seek to keep as stable as possible under the circumstances the general school conditions ot of tile the various communities in muni ties the chief item of business ot of the meeting was the passing by unanimous vote of the following t threefold revolution reLo lution 1 that it be the sense and council of this gathering to advise al high school graduates to enter college high school graduates will be accepted at any college or university in the state at the opening ol of any term or any quarter 2 that we take steps to re or and adjust the curricula andi and courses of all our schools to promote I 1 graduation from the high school at the age of eighteen 3 that we recommend subject 0 uch regulations as the war dep 1 r merit ment may issue that the young men of the state eighteen years of age or over who have not graduated from high school continue their education in ill their own ov n communities B ROLAND LEWIS secretary |
