Show HOME TIES tuesday evening the play entitled home ties or rural felicity was presented to a large audience atthe amusement hall it was a fine play with a good plot and a splendid moral the actors and actresses all did exceptionally well mrs poplin was the widow with a pension she want josiah until aunt melissa made her jealous then she got busy and married him aroh pronto which seemed to cure all her symptoms josiah was only an umbrella mender but he knew how to warm up to the widow their conversation with the help 0 of f linda jane kept the house in a continual uproar linda jane was a carefree care free colored girl and her dancing was a clever imitation of the old buck and wing that you frequently see on the levee in new orleans martin winn with memories of the past was a sad a and nd broken man but he had a daughter ruth who was the ray of sunshine in his heard ruth becomes co ines smitten with harold vincent of new york who visits at ruths home when martin sees harold it brings up sad in memories of the past and he learns leams that harold is the son of the man who stole his wife years ago harold is told to leave with the understanding that he is to return in six months provided provid the sweethearts still love one another but after a few months harold marries alma wayne ruths friend from the city who is a society bud and who at one time framed up a flirtation with leonard everett who was formerly the sweetheart of ruth the frame up was concocted dy aunt melissa and mrs poplin the object being to try and make ruth jealous and it worked in the final windup wind up ruth returns to her first love who is ready to receive her wl ith open arms y the lov scenes are allwill qc ica tv ed and look very realistic the th verdict of the audience was excellent cel lent the proceeds of this play was for the benefit of a school library in western uintah county the giscome orchestra furnished music for the occasion and was app appreciated recia ted by all present aeh s |
