Show LONE TREE MINE on thursday evening a five act drama entitled lone tree mine was produced at the amusement hall it was a piny with a good plot plo t intermingled ca with ith comic sayings and the participants all did well the first scene of the play was in denver in 1882 1382 and ended in the same city thirteen years later tho other three acts took place in the creed mining camp the cast of characters as follows malvin with a I 1 wrong to avenge J A washburn hiram mathews half owner of foloran hope mine sam page doe doc brady gambler desperado etc james prince lige lord a miner spencer broderick oderick Er eugene lacy from boston paul cluff Pat Murphy hirama partner a lover of wine leroy beagley gabe waters a miner russell todd si hayes a miner marion chang a heathen chinee joe pearce anna wife of Malvin gertrude collett nancy brady doe doc bra bradys d y s wife ada johnson little irene calvins Mal vins daughter margaret worthen mountain rose the stolen child mary fisher donkey miners crowd and etc the play was interspersed with good songs by mountain rose the heroine of the play she had a very difficult part and played it well chang the heathen chinee also gave an exhibition hibi tion of his ability as a song and dance artist hiram mathews was the envy of all the young men present especially in in the affectionate I 1 part but when it came to real acting malvin was there with the dodds doe doc brady was a wicked cites and we dont think lie he had a friend in the house at the end of the show which means that the villain played bayed his part pat murphy looked upon the wine when it was red and the natural result was a typical booze fighter chuck full of comic sayings nancy brady was vas the wife of the villain and just like real life those fellows always do get the best woman anna short well was the wife of the hero a very dignified society lady she played her part fine eugene lacy was a tenderfoot from boston and turned out to be all wool and a yard wide the three miners miners did their parts very well little irene was also a star and added much to the appearance in the first scene of the play of course the donkey must also be given credit for his share of praise the giscome orchestra furnished music for the occasion and was appreciated by the large audience present it was a good show and the people all seemed to think they got their moneys worth it is amusements of this kind that adds to the spice of life |
