Show Ellen Bracken Phone 62062 Move to Ogden Mr. and Mrs. -Wendell Johnson and family are moving to the campus at Utah State Industrial school in Ogden, where Wendell will be an LDS Seminary instructor.. instruc-tor.. The Johnson's will be missed in the ward very much. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Todd, who have been living at Randlett for neary two years, expect to meke their home where the Johnsons have resided. Mr. and Mrs. Von Haslm attended attend-ed the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Rasmussen at La-point La-point on Friday evening. On Saturday Sat-urday the Haslems and' sons, Allen and Sammy went to Merkley's park to join in a Haslem reunion. Ray Summers of Roosevelt was a speaker in Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. Various awards were issued to members of the Aaronic priesthood. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Larsen from Salt Lake spent the past week end with home folks. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Baum-gaertel Baum-gaertel and family of Kearns were recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Butcher. The following group went to Mapel Dell to attend the Cub, Sceut outing: Den 1, Den mothers Ethel Ercanbrack, Tilintha Rasmussen, Ras-mussen, Den Chief Glen Page, parents par-ents Weslie Ercanbrack and Ost Hullinger. Cubs were: Jesse Hul-linger, Hul-linger, Phillip JJohnson, Lloyd Rasmussen, Ras-mussen, Terry and' Ralph Ercan-bkrack Ercan-bkrack and Manfred Nielson. Den 2 den mothers were: Wilma Haslem, Has-lem, Alice Squire, Denchief Allen Collins, parents: Myrtle Winn, Beatrice Lundberg, Jack Cook, Barta Jenkins, Earl Gardner, Lois Cook; cubs, Allen Bingham,- Richard Rich-ard La Rose, Danny Daniels, Lloyd HalLett, Max Cook, Donald Squire, Dennis Jenkins, Rex Winn. Den 3 Cubs, Wade Parrish, Freddie Fred-die Asay and Jerry Gines. The Relief Society1 had a farewell fare-well party for Mrs. Norma Johnson John-son Aug. 15 at the chaple. There were twenty ladies present Root beer floats were served and a beautiful planter was given to Mr. Johnson as a gift. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Shisler and two daughters visited at the Mont Poulson home in Duchesne Sun. While in the Basin Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Horrocks and daughter of Las Vegas Nev. were overnight guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Winn. Albert Sarri who has spent most of the summer with his grandparents, grandpar-ents, Mr. and Mrs'i S. A. Brigton, left for his home in San Lorenzo, California last week. HOLD FACULTY MEETING Sunday School Faculty meeting was held at the Ernest Betts home Monday evening, Aug. 13, with ten officers and teachers present. Mrs. Karl Shesler presented' the lesson. Root beer -floats were served ser-ved as refreshments- I Mr. and Mrs. Ray L. Albey of Roy spent last week end at the home of Mrs. Albey's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gareth Andrson. Mr. and Mr. Phillip Merkley and sons have moved from Ballard Bal-lard to Roosevelt. Mr- Merkley is one of the teachers at the Roosevelt Roose-velt Junior High School. The Mer-kleys Mer-kleys were ardent workers in the ward and they will be missed greatly. Mr. and Mrs. Harden Labrum have moved into the "Tex" Ross home while the Ross family is away. Mr. and Mrs. James Butcher and family of Evanston, Wyoming Wyom-ing were down 'last week end to visit Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Butcher Butch-er and to attend the dedication of the Baptist Church.,' Mr. and Mrs. Robert Steele of Orem have moved into the Ballard Ward. Mr. Steele will be one of the instructors at Union High this coming school year.. We welcome them to our ward. Mrs. Golden Collins is the magazine mag-azine agent for the ward Relief Society. CORRECTION Instead of Mr. and Mrs. Kine Hatch being at the home of Mr. and' Mrs. Issac Ross it should have stated Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stanley and daughters. The Stanleys Stan-leys have moved to Bountifuf now to make their home. Mrs. Joanna Watkins of Los Angeles An-geles who has spent the past month visiting with her brother Russel Todd at Randlett, Mrs. George Bracken in Ballard and Mrs. Mont Poulson at Duchesne, her two sisters, returned to Salt Lake City to visit a short time before leaving for home. Mr. and Mrs- Wendell Johnson were entertained by a group at Roosevelt City Park on Saturday evening. Also Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Memmott entertained the Johnsons at a dinner party at their home one evening last week . Mr. and Mrs. Kine Hatch are acting as custodians at the chaple now. Mr- and Mrs. Morgan Calvert of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Shisler took a trip up over the Vernal route to Manila last week to visit some relatives, re-tives, re-tives, returning by way of ' Enan-ston Enan-ston Wyo. Later in the week Mr. and Mrs. Shisler made a trip to Afton, Wyoming to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Dee Meldruna and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Johnson attended . the wedding reception of the former Patrica Meyers at Vernal one evening last week, where Mr- Johnson acted as master mas-ter of ceremonies. Miss Meyers was in the group of the last graduates grad-uates of Alterra High School, and has since attended the BYU at Provo. Paul S. Hanson of St. George and Mrs. Clara Pearson of Salt Lake City were recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray-mand Ray-mand Eldredge. Mr. Hanson is the father of Mrs. Eldredge and Mrs. Pearson is her sister. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Squire and Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Squire left on Monday morning Aug. 20 to join Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Squire of Gunnison. The three couples" are making a trip to Moses Lake in Washington. |
