Show ; Funerals Funeral services for George Frederick Potts, 80, retired farmer who had lived in the Uintah Basin for more than 40 years, will be conducted Saturday Satur-day at 10 a. m. in the Upalco ward chapel; Bishop Hugo Mitchell, Mit-chell, officiating. Mr. Potts died Tuesday, Dec. 6, of a heart ailment. ail-ment. Born Feb. 8, 1869, near Cor-innfi, Cor-innfi, a son of Thomas P. and Julia Jemmett Potts, he grew up at Woodland, and freighted with ox teams to Park City &t the age of 15. As a young man he also took part in lumber drives down the Provo river. An active member of the LDS church, he filled a mission in South Carolina and Georgia. In 1894 he married Katie Duncan, and following her death married Eldora Lefler Rose, who died a number of years later. His last marriage was to Vina Carroll, in Upalco, about 35 years ago. She survives him. Oher survivors include two sons and a daughter, Percy and Leland Potts and Mrs. Irene Iorg, Upalco; 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Frank N. Potts. Woodland. Wood-land. Interment will be in the Woodland cemetery. Friends may call at the Olpin mortuary, Roosevelt, Friday, and at the Potts home Saturday until time of services. |
