Show SOCIETY BUSINESS-PROFESSIONAL WOMEN ' One of the attractive social events'of the week was the delightful de-lightful dinner at the Gordon Harmston residence on Februai-y 18 for members of the Roosevelt Business and Professional Women's Wo-men's club. Subject for this month's meeting meet-ing was "Public Affairs" with the theme developed in patriotic colors. col-ors. A beautifully ai ranged centerpiece cen-terpiece of red carnations formed the nucleus of the decorations. Red, white and blue .nut cups centered each small table where tiny American flags marked places for twenty-two guests. Following the regular order of club business, at which a project for the year was discussed, club members enjoyed a showing of pictures of the Mormon Trek. Mrs. Jack "McLea was named chairman of the project committee, commit-tee, with Mrs. Theron Leavitt and Mrs. Paul Murphy serving with her. . NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Mrs. Neldon Nyberg extended hospitality at her home last Wednesday Wed-nesday evening to members of Neighborhood Sewing club. A delicious dessert luncheon was served to Mrs. Harold Gardner, Mrs. Floyd Labrum, Mrs. Llew-elyyn Llew-elyyn Jenkins, Mrs. Art Allen, Mrs. Frank Yack, Mrs. George Hacking, Mrs. Clifton Laris, Mrs. Louis Laris, and Mrs. Howard Andrews. CONTRACT CLUB Dinner at the Frontier Grill was featured last Saturday evening eve-ning when Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilkens entertained members of the Contract Club. Following dinner, tables were arranged for bridge at the Wilkins Wil-kins residence, where beautiful bouquets of spring flowers lent charm to the rooms. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Ashton, "Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch. Mr. and Mrs. Les Mullins, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mr. and Mrs, Robert Mar-imon, Mar-imon, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chambcrlin. ' Prizes were won by Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch. . ANNOUNCES BETROTHAL' Mr. and Mrs. Charles Percival, of Ioka, announce the engagement engage-ment of their daughter, Bculah, to Duane Bracken, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken, of Al- terra. Miss Percival is a graduate of the Roosevelt High school, and recently filled a mission in the Northern States. ' Duane is a graduate of the Al-terra Al-terra High school and a veteran of World War II. The marriage will take place in the near future in the Salt Lake Temple. - FRIDAY BRIDGE Members and guests of Friday Bridge club were delightfully entertained en-tertained last week at the residence resi-dence of Mrs. Howard Harrison. A tempting calad course supper was served .with covers laid for Mrs. Ray Jordan, Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mrs. Vean Bair, Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Mrs. Jay Ginn, Mrs. Eugene Eu-gene Harmston, Mrs. Wayne Ma-lin, Ma-lin, Mrs. .Louis Corbridge, Mrs. Bob Huish, Mrs. Axel Birch, Mrs. Robert Marimon and Mrs. John i Bourne. I Three tables were arranged for bridge, following supper. Prizes were won by Mrs. Marimon, j Mrs. Harmston, Mrs. Weiss, Mrs. Wilkins and Mrs. Ginn. - 'ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED j Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Rasmus-'.sen, Rasmus-'.sen, of Lapoint, announce the 'engagement of their daughter, Oral, to Mr. Acel Haslem, son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Haslem, of Bcnnetl. Date for the wedding is I tentatively, set for next summer. I Miss Rasmussen, a student at iBrigham Young University, graduated grad-uated from the Alterra High school last spring. During the summer she was employed at the Roosevelt Bakery. Mr. Haslem, also a graduate of Alterra High school, class of '43, is a veteran of World War II, having served two years in the Army stationed in Japan and the Philippines. He is a sophomore at Biigham Young University. Both he and Miss Rasmussen are affiliated with Lamba Delta Sigma Sig-ma fraternity. JR. CULTURE CLUB Bumps, spills and general hilarity hi-larity were the order of the day when Mrs. Floyd Labrum and Mrs. Frank Yack entertained members of Junior Culture club and their partners at a skating party Tuesday evening at Victory Vic-tory Park. Enjoying the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Clem Labrum. Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Mr. and Mrs. John Mohlman, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Redmond, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Murdock, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Labrum, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Labrum, Mrs. Parley Raw-lings, Raw-lings, Mrs. Elmer Eldredge, Miss Karma Dee Harmston, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Laris and Mr. and Mrs. Reed WLscombe. BRIDGETTE It was luncheon and bridge at the Murdock residence last Thursday evening when Mrs. Bill Murdock entertained members of Bridgette. Her guest list numbered num-bered twelve and included Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Verlan Labrum, Mrs. Elmer Eldredge Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Mrs. Clem Labrum, Mrs. Doug McKlnlay Mrs. Jack Mohlman, Mrs. John'" nie Cook, Mrs. Ned Bellon, Mrs.-' Marvell Neilson, Mrs. Mont Kill lian and Mrs. Bill Nelson.
