Show j riyton Girl Killed In Salt Lake Automobile Wreck ' By Grace Dalglcish j GLADYS Virginia Smith, 15, daughter of Jay and Lena Rosa Smith, met tragic death, Friday, h .May 30, at 12:50 a. m. in a two j car collision at 23rd East and ' 33rd South, in Salt Lake City. Gladys was born in Myton, i Aug. 27, 1931 and had attended i school here, being a student in the 8th grade during the , past ; year. She showed special aptitude apti-tude in the musical field having gained first honors in an ama-l ama-l teur program in Vernal during April. She had broadcast over .KFXJ radio station recently and was well known throughout the Basin for her musical abilities and sunny disposition. i FUNERAL services were conducted con-ducted Monday at the L.D.S. ward chapel, with Bishop Syerl Dennis in charge. Invocation was offered by Leo Elder; vocal duet "'A Perfect Day," Mrs. George , Marett and Mrs. Arch karsen; ' speakers. W. H, Linck,' Leonard Harris. Vocal solo, Floyd Ross; Benediction, Loyal Perry. Interment was in the Myton cemetery with the grave dedicated dedi-cated by Mr. Crapo. Pall bearers were Gladys' school mates. Girls from her class had charge of the flowers. Gladys is survived by her par-1 nts, five sisters, Mrs. Lucile Zirker, Prima, Alice, Belle and Ardith Smith, all of Myton, and j one brother, Kenneth H. Smith, I of Salt Lake City. I |
