Show Youth Succumb to Traffic Hurts ' VERNAL Funeral services for Alton Goodrich, 16, who was fatally injured in an automobile accident September 12, were conducted last Thrusday at 3 p m. in the Naples L D S chapel by La veil Manwaring, bishop. The accident victim was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Deloy Goodrich of Vernal. The accident occur ed when young Goodrich's small coupe collided with a milk truck driven driv-en by Hyrum Greehaugh, Vernal, Ver-nal, about two and one-half miles south of the city. Goodrich and his cousin, Douglas Karren, 15, son of Mrs. James Karren, were en route to classes at Uintah high school at the time of the accident. Karren Kar-ren suffered only slight injuries in the crash. The small coupe collided with the milk truck at a blind intersection, inter-section, according to an eye-witness, Lewis Gardner. Mr. Gardner Gard-ner who was waiting on the brush obscurred corner for a ride to Vernal said he attempted to flag down the Goodrich car. Born in Vernal on November 18, 1928, the youth is survived by his parents, two brothers, 11 Clive and Verdon and a sister. Ila Fae Goodrich, all of Vernal. He was buried in the Naples cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walker and children spent the week end in Vernal. |
